Frequently Asked Questions
- Why doesn't the lightning flash work when my screen is off?
- On iOS, the flash effect requires the app to be in the foreground โ this is a system restriction. On Android, the flash continues in the background as long as camera permission is set to "While using the app." If you chose "Allow only this time," the flash will stop automatically when you leave the app. The rain sound always continues in the background on both platforms.
- Can I listen to music at the same time?
- Yes. Rainy Desk is designed to mix with other audio apps. Start your music first, then open Rainy Desk.
- Will the rain keep playing when I lock my phone?
- Yes. The rain audio continues in the background even with the screen locked, as long as the app is running.
- What does the sleep timer do?
- The sleep timer automatically stops the rain (and lightning) after a set duration โ 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, or 10 hours. You'll receive a notification when the timer starts and when it ends.
- Why does the app ask for camera permission?
- Rainy Desk uses the camera flash (torch) to simulate lightning. No photos or videos are ever taken or stored.
